Panera Bread - Manager Review from Washington, District Of Columbia

I have a question the corporate people of panera... do you not know How to train your managers in people skills.....I've witnessed first hand verbal abuse from managers,in two separate stores in Southern Maryland to their employees and know for a fact of something that occurred in one of the stores by one manager that was devastating to the employees while were aware and it was all covered up.Dear Corporate you better start fixing this problem before you start loosing more customers and having your Company Name ruined by having your dirty Landry aired nation wide.

Panera Bread in Baltimore, Maryland - Pinni was prepared incorrectly

I went into a Panera Bread store on Friday April 11th to order a chicken Panini with chips. Thy made the sandwich and it was 50% cold and the other hot. So, I had a partially cold and partially hot panini. To top it off, I went to take a seat and all of the available ones were super dirty from when other customers were sitting there. Every time I go into store #3587 ( In Catonsville, Md) the experience gets worse. I think I will reframe from Panera Bread from this day forward! I would like to be contacted by Panera Bread because it's crazy to see the service go down!

Yes. Panera Bread is about the most expensive franchise to buy into.

What you don't realize is ALL those pricey menu items pretty much go straight toward bonuses for the GM's.They pay their employees the LOWEST WAGES in all of these types of eateries, and (example) if the PREVIOUS YEARS sales were low, then they begin cutting their poorly treated (& often hired with promises made/broken) employees complete shifts. So, it doesn't surprise me at all that you could not find a single clean table, because the locations that HAVE dining rooms are run by one (1) overworked, underpaid person... If sales were low they cut the dining room staff entirely!!!Now, with that said, any shift manager would tell you it is the RESPONSIBILITY of the MIC to pick up the slack in these situations, but I have DROVES of photos that prove this simply does not work!!If you think a few dirty TABLE TOPS are a misfortune, don't begin considering what types of things are commonplace any restaurant would need to have up to par just to PASS when the Health Department makes their surprise visits.Panera Bread is a dream for the GM's, and an epic failure for anyone else, regardless whether you're a patron or thinking you actually have job security within this franchise.

First of all in North Carolina $13.79 is very expensive. The "classic Grilled cheese" was essentially american cheese between two slices of bread and microwaved so the cheese would melt. There were these vague "grill marks" on the bread, certainly not a classic grilled...

As a 15 year veteran of the food service industry let me explain a few things. The larger a restaurant's menu is the greater the likely hood of the restaurant relying on pre prepared food is.

Everyone from corporate chains to even some mom and pop places thanks to companies like GFS, Sysco, and Sygma can all get pre prepared items. At Panera all of the soups are prepared offsite frozen and arrive in bags which are then reheated in a vat of hot water.

This is a very common practice and unless the restaurant claims the soup is made from scratch in house then you likely are receiving soup prepared in this manner. The foodservice industry relies heavily on these shortcuts because a properly trained Chef is not cheap and college students are.

Panera Bread in Tucson, Arizona - Purchased their breakfast sandwich - terrible

I went to the Phoenix Panera on Central and Thomas. They have a mouthwatering picture of their breakfast sandwich: egg, bacon and cheese. Both my husband and I were extremely disappointed in the quality. Also, the staff was very rude or under-trained, not sure which. I was at the same restaurant a couple of days ago and assumed the long lines were a result of its popularity, but now realize it was lack of training for the staff. I left due to the long lines and now am happy that I did not waste more of my money. Don't waste your time or money.

learn how to cook for your husband instead of going out all the time, and grow up and be patient we have to wait in lines for everything, if you can't do this learn how to cook, though in this case you would be making a complaint about the stove taking too long to cook your food. Why go back to a restaurant where you already did not like the food. My guess is you don't know what a stove is.

I visited at a Novi Michigan store this morning and spent about $47 for a dozen of bagels, 5 croissants, 6 muffins, a bag of cookies and a box of cream cheese. I handed in my order in writing and specifically requested the bagels to be cut and baked. I heared the...

Yeah, they have a spot that's titled "EXPERIENCES", but they don't do a thing if you offer a bad one. Panera Bred is THE worst of the worst.

What a cheapskate loser! Food costs money to buy so it costs money if you want it. Also, if you order as poorly as you write you're lucky you get any food at all.

Panera Bread in Los Angeles, California - Steak house prices and Taco Bell Portions

When my son, his girl friend and I went to Panera Bread Company for the first time, we all ordered the same thing. We ordered three pick two meals. 1/2 pasta and 1/2 sandwich with chips and two drinks total.......$43.76 could have gone to outback steakhouse for that much. The half sandwich was smaller than an egg Mc Muffin and the pasta was hard pressed to be 8oz. at best. Do people have they're heads buried in sand or what...to go to a company like this that is blatantly ripping people off!!! I went for my first and last last and believe me I will tell all never to go there ever.

People are free to go where they want to. You didn't like Panera, that doesn't mean other people shouldn't try it and decide for themselves.

I had the same issue.

I thought it tasted like ham, too.

@Lori. Yes, the original poster DOES indeed know what smoked chicken tastes like. According to his/her taste buds, it tastes like ham.

Regardless of what kind of meat it really is, the fact that it is salted chicken does not negate the fact that it tastes like ham.

If it tastes like ham, it tastes like ham, and that's that.

If I wanted ham alfredo, I would order ham alfredo.

Panera Bread in Doylestown, Pennsylvania - Pasta...not worth $11

So I went to panera bread today and decided to try their tortelini. I asked the cashier how big a small was and she convinced me it was worth the price. She lied through her teeth!! She was also very unfriendly and standoffish. She acted like I was a piece of *** pretty much. Well I get my small order and paid an extra dollar for chicken.....3 pieces of *** sized chicken..tasted like it was soaked in bacon YUCK. anyway there were litterally 11 pieces of pasta..REALLY I PAID A DOLLAR A PIECE...I will never go there again.. Since the pasta didn't fill me I decided to buy a cookie I asked fr one of the fresh cookies and she pointed in front of her register and said I could have one from the basked that was wrapped. Who knows how long that sat there. *** panera id hve to be an *** to to go back there

Yes I refuse to eat at panera, plus the panera by my house, someone admitted to me that majority of the people who work there are stoners.

For less than $11, you could have gotten a large portion at a mom n pop Italian place! Panera is so not worth the money!
